Finally…..it’s been so long..

Hi everyone and where has February gone? And nearly the end of March too…..gosh!! I can’t keep up with the time lately….is it a sign of old age starting to have an effect on me or is it because I am just busy….I think I will go for the busy bit. Don’t want to get ‘old’ yet. lol.

Well now since my last blog post I have been to Adelaide and spent 4 days over there from 8th – 12th March, with a group of gorgeous ladies for a Stitching weekend.

It was a fab time and so good to catch up with my ‘Nutter’ sisters :) Love those girls….Joy, Fee and Dawn and to catch up with all the other lovely ladies as well just, the best time. Here are some pics of a bit that went on.

Us ‘Nutters’ plus two secret designers who were Judy and Wendy all did a design for all the ladies that came for the Sunday Stitching Day.

My design is a lovely stitchery wall hanger and is the first of 7 in the set.

Monday Is Washing Day and the rest are going to be all the days of the week with the different ‘happenings’ for those days.

Monday Is Washing Day

Next year its going to be here in Melbourne (from 7th – 10th March) and I am organising it and plan on making it a fabulous time as Dawn did for Adelaide. Of course us ‘Nutters’ will release a new design for all those who come to it and we are having two new secret designers as well…..Exciting stuff!!

Now its back to reality again and I have been sewing a gorgeous new quilt by Lori Holt.

I will have some more blog posts shortly. Won’t be weeks that's for sure!!

have nice day

Hugs to All……

Fabric and things………

I couldn’t help myself.

I just loved these fabrics when I saw them and for some reason they just jumped into my trolley. I am thinking I will make a new bag out of them. Since then I have got some purple homespun for the lining and of course some green fabric found its way into my trolley too. Funny that.

I bought myself some new shoes to help me with my feet. These ones are Orthaheels and so far they seem to be helping.  Of course Bella had to make sure I took a good picture. LOL.

NEW SHOES (2) (Medium)

When I sew on my sewing machine, I am behind the two recliners we sit in to watch television. Sometimes Bella watches me from these and I finally was able to get a picture of her…..sooo cute.

Mushrooms and other things….

I bought a box of dirt the other week…on it there was a promise of mushrooms that would grow…I bought it and watered it and misted it like it said and finally after about a month ..I was ready to chuck it out onto the garden.. look at what are showing their little heads!!! Soooo cute and exciting!

Mushrooms (3) (Medium)

Yeah….I know….its only mushrooms….but these ones I am going to be able to pick and eat and more will pop up and let me pick to eat…Yummmm! I love mushrooms cooked on toast. Steak and mushroom pie! Mmmmm…..

I remember going out to the farmer’s paddocks looking for mushrooms growing wild….many years ago now. It was so much fun running around with my bucket and knife looking for a mushroom to cut and put in the bucket.

Bring them home …clean them up and cook them…..nothing better than freshly picked field mushrooms cooked and also just sliced and mixed in to a nice salad too …well there are other yummyness but for now its mushrooms *grin*

~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have been a little bit busy with putting these blocks together and doing some hand stitching as well.
At the end of this week I will have the instructions for putting it all together ready for you all to download for my Out Of The Box BOM and I hope you all have fun sewing it and putting it together. This will be my version and Dawn will have hers for you also.
We are getting some nice rain here today and it’s just as well I went and took those photos the other day as all the blossom is gone from that beautiful tree now.
Have a great week
I can show you my Fair Lady
Here in the magazine - Patchwork & Stitching
Issue Vol. 11 No. 10 is my design ‘Fair Lady’.
Fair Lady
Fair Lady in Magazine
I am over the moon with her as she is very special to me. I made her dress with gathered fabric and edged it in lace. There is embroidery and I also used Prismacolor pencils to colour in the top half of the lady. This is incorporating decorative painting into the design which was great to do as I used to do a lot of Folk Art & Decorative Painting.
Quilting, Patchwork and sewing took over that. Here is a close up of the coloured in areas.
Close up of colouring in
I will have this available as a PDF pattern very soon.
I have been working on my website for my ‘The Pickledish Patch’ store plus getting in some stock for it and organising lots and lots of pictures.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I am getting excited about going to Brisbane next month and its not long to go now…

14 days!!!

Do you see the little button up on the right hand side of my blog? Its just above the Compassionate Friends button. That tells me how long until I fly off to Brissie… Started to pack my things and got some outfits sorted out. A lot of organising has been happening.

Can’t wait to meet everyone who are coming along to the morning at the park (GJ Walters Park at Cleveland) and I am very excited about that. *big smile*

Back to doing this website for my store.

hugs to all…….Vicki

Gather your goodies…….

Like the heading says…Gather your goodies….
Like ribbons, lace, ricrac, your favourite buttons, beads, threads and anything that you have got saved but haven't found the right place to sew them on to yet.
Plus of course your choice of background fabric and a Honey Bun Roll of your choice as well.
You can use any fabric you like but I will be using a Honey Bun Roll of Nostalgia.
It’s an oldie but I love it!
The background fabric I am going to use is a light pale fawn colour that matches in with the Nostalgia colours. Of course you can use any colour you like.
What are we collecting all these goodies for you ask?

A new BOM is in the making!
It’s called
“Out Of The Box –
BOM”
Dawn of ‘As Sweet As Cinnamon’ and I are going to give you all a free BOM off our blogs but before you get too excited it’s not until January  2011.
The first blocks will be on January 5th 2011 and there after on the 1st of each month.
We will run this for 9 months and then of course the finale will be the layout of all the blocks.
We have to sew it up yet but our plan is to have 4 stitcheries into one block each per month for you.
So really that’s 8 stitchery blocks
for you to use in your
‘Out Of The Box - BOM’
each month.
We are very excited about this as for a while now we have been wanting to use our saved embellishments and we know you have some saved also.
What we have done so far is already looking fabulous!
Here’s a sneak peek for you all….
Lots of bordered blocks….MMmm yumm!
There are 9 blocks all up…….
So get your goodies ready and be prepared to join Dawn and I on January 5th 2011 for our
‘Out Of The Box - BOM’
Dawn is going to set up a Flickr so everyone can share their monthly stitcheries ….isn't that a great idea? I think so because I don't know how to set it up *grins* and also it’s a great way to see everyone's blocks and that is always good. Because, I don’t know about you but I love seeing what everyone does.
Here is a button that you can put on your blog to let everyone know about our BOM
Out Of The Box BOM 2011
Just right click and copy to your computer and then load it up onto your side bar of your blog with the link back to either mine or Dawn’s blog. We are going to have lots of fun with this BOM *big smile*
Hugs to all………..Vicki
