Finally I have put all the rows together in Lori Holt’s Row Along

I really enjoyed sewing these rows and the next stage is backing and quilting and then of course binding it.

I love it to bits and found Lori’s tutorials so easy to follow. Thanks Lori for another fabulous quilt.

All for baby Jasper.

I can finally show you all the very special name plaque I was able to send to my son and his wife for their new son.

It has been lovingly made up by Angela of My Little Details and working with her to make sure all the details were correct was a very enjoyable experience. Thanks heaps Angela for making it possible for me to be able to give this fabulous name plaque to my son and daughter-in-law.

Jaspers name plaque (2) (Medium)1

They are very pleased with it and it goes very nicely in the Nursery….matches the colour scheme really well.

So thank you Angela for a fabulous name plaque and if you would like Angela to make one for your new baby just go here to her website and pick which one you would like.

Before Jasper was born I made a raggy quilt for him.

Babys quilt (6) (Medium)

Then I didn't know wether baby was a boy or girl so I made the quilt in all soft pastel colours. This was the first time I made a raggy quilt and it went together really well and because I bought way too much fabric and didn't want it sitting around here I decided to make another quilt for bub. So he got two quilts.

Babys quilt (3) (Medium)

This one was a disappearing 9 patch method. I loved doing this and then just machine quilted a meandering pattern all over it.

Jasper’s Mummy had to have a bag to carry all his things around in when she went shopping or for walks or visiting so I made up a bag for her from Bronwyn Hayes’ Three Bears Toy Bag. I had the magazine it was in but you can download the pattern from Bronwyn’s blog.

Jasper’s Mummy loves the bag and takes it with her all the time when she goes out. Of course I had to make it in the colours that are her favourite…purple!

All good fun to sew and even more fun to give them to my son and his wife. They loved them all.

have a great week……

hugs to all…..

A New Bag.

I really liked this bag after going thru my many patterns of bags.

I probably spent a couple of weeks trying to decide which bag to make.

img_large-baglg_1

Well ……..

I found this bag HERE at All People Quilt and after downloading the pattern and sorting out what fabric I wanted to use… I made my own bag. I used linen fabric to make it stronger.

Bag (Medium)

This is quite a big bag and I am still deciding wether to use it for my everyday shopping bag or keep it for when I go away for a weekend for putting all the things I need to take with me for a sewing day with friends. Its a nice sturdy bag and has pockets on the inside for your mobile phone or pen or notepad etc.

If you decide to make it then have fun and show me yours…..I would love to see it in your choice of fabrics.

Just had to show you what my little Bella does when I sit and have a biscuit or piece of cake….

Bella and Vicki (Medium)

She sits there on my shoulder and watches every mouthful I take….lol. She is spoilt! and so cute!

Hugs to all…..

Christmas Challenge and a Hot Potato!……

I am rather late (I hang my head in shame) in running this Hot Potato Giveaway, but I finally have made this gorgeous Little Wallet up.
DPP_0008
Of course I couldn’t just make one. I ended up making six!!
DPP_0005
I loved making them and want to keep them all for me but I will keep the Green one…of course!! and the rest will go in my Christmas Box.
So Judith, I have five goodies to go into the Christmas Challenge and I am number 34 on your side bar on your blog.
This Hot Potato started with Sarah from Sarah’s Prim Treasures and she hopes it continues to be passed on so it goes around the world. Which is exciting.
Would you like to win the giveaway of the pattern?
Wallet

but, the rules are clear!  When I won this pattern from Melinda of Melinda’s Fabric Fancies, I could have it for 1 month then had to pass it along in a giveaway, so that someone else could have the joy of making this very quick and easy little wallet for 1 month, before they too, had to pass it along in a giveaway.  Specifically, and these are direct from the source, the rules are as follows:
1. You must have a blog to be in it.
2. Once you receive it, you must pass it on to another blogger via a giveaway within 1 month! It will be great to see where it goes around the world......
3. Add your name and blog address to the card provided which will also be passed on with the pattern.
So, if you agree to have it made and to pass it on within this time frame, please comment on this post! I am happy to post anywhere in the world.
I will make a random selection for the winner next Saturday, September 25th, 2010, from all comments left on this post. Only one comment per person please.
Hugs to all……..Vicki Purple Flowers

A Bag from Scraps and some yumminess!

I had a heap of scraps left over from cutting the corners off those squares that you use when you sew a little square onto a big one and trim the corners off after sewing across the middle….like this….

CaptureI thought …..well its a waste that they are all just sitting there filling up the little box….so I made a heap of Pinwheel blocks from them and then joined these together and ended making a bag. Well…..what else does a girl make? Of course I need another bag!!

This is the front of the bag

and the back

The photos have turned out a bit dark but you get the idea :)

My DH and I bought ourselves a portable oven as we didn't have one before IMG_0319

and I have been cooking a few yummy things….but I am still getting used to the heat of it and how it cooks…..so far so good :)

IMG_0320

Lots of yumminess cooking there……Sausage Rolls…..wanna come for supper? I got to go and check on them now….

Hugs to all ……..Vicki
