I had to have little Lady Bugs…some call them Lady Birds and also I crocheted a frill around the flower centres for a 3D effect. If you don’t crochet then just do appliqué.

As some of you know, I have got myself a new quilting frame and a new sewing machine just for being on the frame to quilt with.
This is my first quilt I done with it..  I have done some quilting on my domestic sewing machine but to have a frame is very exciting!
I just did an all over squiggle and didn't get frustrated like I do on my domestic one - much more room!!

Another thing I indulged in was making this cute little elephant. I have got other felt colours but just haven't got to making any more as yet.    10403252_10202654884228114_4405072408637131947_n

Hugs to all….

My sewing….. A Row Along

Happy Easter Everyone.
Safe travels and enjoy your weekend.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have thoroughly enjoyed sewing Lori Holt’s Row Along she has up on her blog. I tried to do similar colours to her and so raided my stash as well as went shopping for some of them.
I have now done all the rows – 13 of them and am sewing them together….it will then be onto the borders.
Rows 1 – 13….but not in that order….
Loving Spring and latest quilt to show.
I love Spring…..especially when birds make nests in my garden and lay their eggs and a pair of Doves (not white ones but greyish ones) have laid two eggs in the nest they made in the little tree in the garden.
Doves nest (1) (Medium)1
Look at those lovely eggs…..that means two more gorgeous little Doves will be in our garden and our very clever Bella keeps the norty bird hunting cats away….she chases them out and barks at them……so hopefully they wont come back and eat these little babies when they hatch.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have a very proud husband…..he designed a quilt and chose what fabrics he wanted the quilt to be sewn up with and this is the final result.

I told you a couple of blog posts ago that I was sewing up Spin City by Miss Rosie’s Quilt Co. …well this is as far as I have got…I need to sandwich it with the quilt batting and backing fabric and then I am going to do an all over meandering machine quilting design on it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I just don't know why I haven't been blog hopping lately and I guess just life has been leading me in other areas.
This is a Christmas Table runner for a special lady and it is straight but for some reason the photo makes it look all out of shape and crooked.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
But I have been sewing and creating and writing up patterns and getting these and the projects off to the different magazines. So I have had to focus on these or I would have made lots of mistakes and not be able to get them into the magazines.
Also a few Framed Hexagons have gone in the post to go to their new homes….

A few finishes……

Here it is…..all finished!!

DPP_00041 (Medium)

My Vintage Dishes Quilt.

Pattern by Lori Holt of Bee In My Bonnet and fabrics are Sew Cherry by Lori Holt of Bee In My Bonnet for Riley Blake. I fell in love with the pattern when I saw it on Lori’s blog and I was able to get the pattern and fabrics and then I thoroughly enjoyed sewing up all the plates and cups and saucers. I love the zigzag border and also how the corners are cut off.

Sooo special!!

My dear friend Dawn quilted it for me and she did an all over flower and leaf design.

DPP_00061 (Medium)

Love it Dawn!! Thank you for doing such a superb quilting job. If you would like Dawn to quilt a quilt of yours just pop on over to her blog and send her an email. Dawn wanted to see me wrapped in the quilt…..well this is me hehehehe

I can’t remember if I showed you my very big quilt that I finished a few months ago. This one is huge and too big to fit on the fence to take a proper photo of it. The fence is just over 6 foot high and so you can see how big it is.

. DPP_00081 (Medium)

I loved sewing the blocks for this one and it is a Thimbleberries design. My friend Natalie of The Quilting Bug machine quilted it for me and it is awesome. I said to Nat…just go for it and do what ever takes your fancy. She loved that and had a ball creating the patterns. I love it too. Thanks Nat!

DPP_00111 (Medium)

I tried holding it up to get a picture of it but its just too big. I am behind it lol….. When its a nice day I will take it somewhere and have a photo shoot with it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The other day I was looking around in my local thrift shop.
Sitting there with my name on it was this darling basket.
Basket before (2) (Medium)
I just had to have it and I thought….painted white will make it even more special. So I have been waiting for a warm day to spray paint it. First up I am going to have to take out the inner linings as I don’t want paint on them.
Basket before (1) (Medium)
There was even a little heart pin cushion, a Thimble holder and scissor holder inside. It was a bargain for $5.00.
I love searching around thrift shops and you just never know what you will find.
hope you are all having a fabulous weekend….
Hugs to all……
