I had to have little Lady Bugs…some call them Lady Birds and also I crocheted a frill around the flower centres for a 3D effect. If you don’t crochet then just do appliqué.

As some of you know, I have got myself a new quilting frame and a new sewing machine just for being on the frame to quilt with.
This is my first quilt I done with it..  I have done some quilting on my domestic sewing machine but to have a frame is very exciting!
I just did an all over squiggle and didn't get frustrated like I do on my domestic one - much more room!!

Loving Spring and latest quilt to show.

I love Spring…..especially when birds make nests in my garden and lay their eggs and a pair of Doves (not white ones but greyish ones) have laid two eggs in the nest they made in the little tree in the garden.
Doves nest (1) (Medium)1
Look at those lovely eggs…..that means two more gorgeous little Doves will be in our garden and our very clever Bella keeps the norty bird hunting cats away….she chases them out and barks at them……so hopefully they wont come back and eat these little babies when they hatch.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have a very proud husband…..he designed a quilt and chose what fabrics he wanted the quilt to be sewn up with and this is the final result.
Been having some fun……
I have been honoured in having my project published in Jenny’s magazine. I am really  excited about it and I hope all who purchase her magazine like my design also. I had lots of fun sewing it and love how its the right size for holding all my vintage hankies that I love to collect.
 Jenny’s magazine is fabulous value for the money and she always has lots of lovely patterns in it. It’s only $4.00 per issue in pdf format! This issue is No. 14….gosh she has been busy….I don’t know how she does it.
The next 8 issues Jenny is giving tutorials on how to sew her "A Christmas Story" quilt! This is a really lovely quilt and you can’t miss it. Pop on over to her Elefantz Home blog and subscribe to her lovely magazine. You wont regret it.
So what have I been up to….Hmmm….Well I am madly sewing up a quilt at the moment… this one is called Spin City  by Miss Rosie’s Quilt Co. I am doing mine in earthy country colours and I am loving sewing it. So quick and easy.
Over at Janiac’s Unite blog there is lots of sewing getting done by some very talented ladies.
Have you been sewing Dear Jane blocks and have come to a standstill? Pop on over to Janiac’s Unite blog and become a member if you want to post your progress with your blocks. It’s a great way to be encouraged and encourage others with the Dear Jane blocks for the quilt.
I actually got three done this month. Gee….still a long way to go but I have told myself it will be a long time progress. No chance of being bored that’s for sure.
My online store is still being attended to and will be back up and running very soon.
Hope you all are having a fabulous week and not being bored… Hugs to all……
A couple of new patterns
Just thought I would show two of my designs that have been published.
I will have these available from my store as patterns very soon for those who don't get these magazines that they are published in.
The first one is Daisy Buds. I did this with waffle fabrics and love how it turned out.
Fabulous lap quilt and lots of easy instructions and diagrams. I like to have diagrams to explain the process as I think it makes it just that bit easier to understand the patterns.
Daisy Buds (2)
This one was fun with piecing and applique and I machine appliqued the flowers on to the quilt.
Issue 11 No. 12
Daisy Buds
This one I had such fun sewing and creating as it has stitchery, applique and piecing…Plus Prairie Points. Loved it! and looks great on a coffee table.
This one I called Peppermint Creams…cause of the cream and green fabrics. Would look great in pinks…
Did you enjoy watching the Wedding yesterday? I loved watching it and Kate was so beautiful and William was very handsome. I am sure Di would have been very very proud of her son. How did I know Kate was going to have lace on her wedding dress??? Mmmm…it was beautiful. Loved it all.
I can show you my Fair Lady
Here in the magazine - Patchwork & Stitching
Issue Vol. 11 No. 10 is my design ‘Fair Lady’.
Fair Lady
Fair Lady in Magazine
I am over the moon with her as she is very special to me. I made her dress with gathered fabric and edged it in lace. There is embroidery and I also used Prismacolor pencils to colour in the top half of the lady. This is incorporating decorative painting into the design which was great to do as I used to do a lot of Folk Art & Decorative Painting.
Quilting, Patchwork and sewing took over that. Here is a close up of the coloured in areas.
Close up of colouring in
I will have this available as a PDF pattern very soon.
I have been working on my website for my ‘The Pickledish Patch’ store plus getting in some stock for it and organising lots and lots of pictures.
I am getting excited about going to Brisbane next month and its not long to go now…
14 days!!!
Do you see the little button up on the right hand side of my blog? Its just above the Compassionate Friends button. That tells me how long until I fly off to Brissie… Started to pack my things and got some outfits sorted out. A lot of organising has been happening.
Can’t wait to meet everyone who are coming along to the morning at the park (GJ Walters Park at Cleveland) and I am very excited about that. *big smile*
Back to doing this website for my store.
hugs to all…….Vicki
Freebie, Lavender and a new publication.
I love lavender and I was really thrilled when I knocked on the door of a neighbour….(well around the corner and up the street a bit neighbour) anyway …..I knocked on her door to ask her if I could cut some of her lavender as the bushes in her front garden had masses of flowers on them. She said..Of course!
DPP_0003 (Medium)
I picked quite a few and brought them all home and bundled them and hung them to dry. I hope to make several sachets with the dried lavender in them.
It’s a cute little hold-all and it was such fun to make as there are several little Christmas themed stitcheries going all the way around the bag.
