I have been on a secret cyber journey with the Gum Tree girls and we all have had a fabulous journey in making this gorgeous quilt “Springtime” for Fresh Hope.
We wanted to help Fresh Hope as they are a wonderful organisation and so we got together (thru emails and phone calls) and we sorted out everything that has to be to make this beautiful quilt. We are all so very proud of it and we have called it our ‘baby’ as its felt like a very special and precious thing….just like a baby. :)
Each one of us Gum Tree designers designed and stitched our main block and also a verse for the quilt. But you are saying….there is 9 blocks and yes so one each from me,Jenny, Joy, Dawn, Vikki, Judith, Fiona and Cheryl (now not among the gum tree branches) and that made 8 blocks so we asked if Blossom (Jenny’s daughter) would design and stitch one too.
This is my block and verse
and the reason behind my block titled ‘In A Twirl’ is because I felt that a lot of the ladies who ended up at Fresh Hope had their lives in a twirl. With my design you can see the spiders web….life has caught them….then on they go around life’s journeys and find that eventually along the journey there is nice and wonderful things in life to enjoy from having help from Fresh Hope.
This is the verse I stitched also
You can pop on over to the Among the Gum Trees blog and read all about this quilt and Fresh Hope and also visit each of my sisters on their blogs to see their blocks they also stitched with love for this quilt.
The pattern for this fabulous quilt will be available from Fresh Hope very soon.
I should say that the design of this quilt was designed by me. We all did our individual blocks, the quilt was stitched together by Dawn, the machine quilting was done by Cheryl, the binding was done by Joy and we are all very proud of this quilt as all of us had a part to play in it.
We hope that you love it as much as we do and look for it to be available for purchase from Fresh Hope later in the month and know you will be supporting a fantastic organisation.
Hugs to all……….Vicki
