What ever you do don't step over wire backwards and fall over and land on your bum and put your sewing hand out to steady yourself or you will end up like this!!!
Yes it’s my arm in a sling with a broken wrist!!! I still can’t believe I spent 4 days in hospital after getting there in an ambulance.
You know what the worse thing about it all is that it’s my sewing hand!!! I am typing this with one hand and it takes so long to do.
It took the hospital 3 days to finally operate on my wrist as it needed a metal plate with screws to hold it together as my bones are weak from having osteopenia!! I am thankful I don't have a broken hip but I do have a huge bruise on my bum where I landed on it….gawd!! So no gardening for me anymore for quite some time.
I have so much sewing I want to do too……
hugs to all ….Vicki
You poor thing I have fallen twice at seperate times and broken first one wrist and then the second the last time.No sewing is hard but getting dressed is even harder I think. My thoughts are with you.

ReplyDeleteI send you a big hug! I know how you feel, I had to stay in bed for about a month and couldn't do anything and it was terrible! You know what was one of the worst things at home? Seeing the faces of panick of the kids and husband when they ACTUALLY REALISED they had to do EVERYTHING!!! Sometimes it was a bit amusing lol... I did tell you I'm a bad person didn't I?
ReplyDeleteWell what I did was take the oportunity of having alll that time for myself and read, googled around and learnt so many things related with stitching...

So sorry to hear of your misfortune....I hope it heals fast for you, I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't sew.....I broke mine a couple of years ago but it was my left hand and I could still sew.
ReplyDeleteHugs and Blessings
You poor thing. I hope you feel much better soon, but it must be sooo frustrating. I remember getting all fit and healthly then I tripped over a golden retriever. Its a shock to find yourself breathless on the ground and in pain. I badly sprained my ankle...it was frustrating not being able to walk.
ReplyDeleteAt least you know its on the mend now.
I'm so sorry you had such misfortune to hurt yourself that way. It will be so hard to be unable to do the things you love, but time will pass and you will bounce back as good as new! Sending you cyberhugs! Carol
ReplyDeleteHi Vicki!

ReplyDeletehope it will heal soon, and the pain stayed away.

ReplyDeleteIf only there was a magic wand I could wave and make you all better. You poor love. {{{{hugs}}}}
ReplyDeleteOh Vicki, I'm so sorry for your fall. Hopefully you will mend quickly and get back to sewing. Take care.
ReplyDeleteVera
What an ordeal to go through and then you can't use the hand on top of it all! This is a disaster. I hope it helps to know we are feeling sorry for you and hoping for a speedy recovery. On the bright side I think you are free from housework for quite a while....if that helps at all.
ReplyDeleteBummer!! Just had to say that to maybe cheer you! Hope it heals quickly and you can get back to doing what you love.
ReplyDeleteThat is a bummer, I recently slipped on a piece of cellophane and injured my left shoulder, so we are in slings together, but at least I am able to start doing a bit of embroidery today, sigh! Take care of that wrist, and do exactly like they say so it can be all better again, sooner rather than later. Will be keeping your healing in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear that you broke your wrist. Four days in the hospital is a long time. You are in my thoughts for a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteOh Vicki, bless your heart. I'm glad you didn't do any further damage but as you said...your sewing hand and arm. You are in my prayers for a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteOuch! I do hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteVicki, you poor thing. I think that it is definitely a sign that your right arm is only ever to be used for sewing as you say. No gardening at all. Hope you are on the mend again soon and back to your sewing. Take it easy, no over do it.
ReplyDeleteGood to see you back again Vicki! Looks like you'll have to put more flesh on your bum girl! Heehehee
ReplyDeleteAll that aside, I do hope that your wrist heals quickly so you can get back to doing the things you love the most. Take care and give youself time to heal properly. Angel hugs.
Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about your broken wrist. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery. Be careful with your arm and be patient so it heals properly..

Hi Vicki,
ReplyDeleteOh honey, you poor thing.
I'm feeling the frustration for you.
I suppose that sewing hand is also your painting hand, so its no good telling you to take up painting again either.
I hope you're not in too much pain, or frustrated.
I know what a busy lady you are, take time to smell the roses and watch your step.
Call me if you need anything.
Hugs,
Anna
Vicki, so sorry to hear about your accident, how horrible not being able to stitch!!! I hope you recover soon!!!
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel. I fell 5 weeks ago and broke my left wrist badly enough that it needed a metal plate and screws. I chose not to have surgery due to other medical problems.
ReplyDeleteI got my cast off last Friday and I am now in a removable splint. The sucker still really hurts... A LOT!!!
I bought a "sit upon hoop" and I am able to embroider. My sweet husband has been cutting fabric for me.
I know it is rough. You can't tie your shoes. You can't hook your bra. You can't open ANYTHING including the medication bottles.
I watched a lot of movies and flipped through quilting magazines. Wish I could offer my suggestions. :( Hang in there!
Oh No!!!
ReplyDeleteHow frustrating, let alone painful I bet!
I hope it mends quickly!
I wish you a complete and fast recovery, take care... Hugs
ReplyDeleteI feel so bad for you! How horrible to have broken it and even worse that you won't be able to do any sewing for a while! I can't imagine how stir crazy I would go not being able to do some stitching. My thoughts are with you for a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteVickie, my thoughts & prayers are with you for a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear about your accident, how horrible not being able to sew! I hope you recover soon!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Vicki.
ReplyDeleteOhhhhhh poor Vicki. Be a good girl, rest up and do what the good medicos tell you to do. Now is the time to do some research or just plain reading. Gentle hugs, TrishJ
