Lots and lots of dog ears….all trimmed off and what are they from?
From these……Lots and lots of Pin Wheel blocks…..
Here are all those Pin Wheel blocks put together…….
Mmmmm…….yummmmmminess
And then of course a border had to be added……
More yummmminess…….
I love this fabric - Objects of Desire by Sandy Gervais for Moda….I finally used a Jelly Roll that I had for the borders and for the Pin Wheels I used a beautiful Charm Pack - Plume by Tula Pink for Moda. Love them!!
Now I am in a bit of a quandary…..I just don't know what to do for the next border….
I think I have to sleep on it (the idea, not the quilt) and see what comes to me thru the night and hits me in the morning. Anyone got any ideas? I would love to hear them.
Soon….not long now….just over a week and we fly out to Western Australia for my son’s wedding.
Hugs to all………Vicki
Truly yummy!
ReplyDeleteWow, looks like many weddings going on...Congratulations to your son !
Ah! I thought what is she going to do with thise little pieces ?? first thoughts were too small to sew maybe a collage the scaps all glued on to something. You see the brain was ahead of the reality , where the corners came from is just picture perfect.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt top is gorgeous and I love it as is.
ReplyDeleteCongratulaions to your son and future DIL.
Will you also be going to Carol's for a little shopping??
Wow the quilt top looks amazing..... love it just like that.....you must be getting so excited about the wedding.....
ReplyDeleteOooo, that's a really sweet quilt top, Vic!!
ReplyDeleteIt's such a lovely top I wouldn't add anything else, it's just perfect as is - I reckon.
ReplyDeletehugs
Miche'le
Oh, how lovely. I like it veru much.
ReplyDeleteI would do a white border with little pinwheels in the corners then a scrappy binding to match the 1st border
ReplyDeleteBut it's very nice as it is (with white binding)
Looks lovely Vicki, I think it looks fine as it is or as someone else said a white border. Lovely work, and you fooled me to with the rabbit ears. Thought you were going to make something really tiny.
ReplyDeleteLove it.... hard decision as to what to do next maybe a plainer border geez who knows hahahahaha xxxxx
ReplyDeleteHow gorgeous!!! I love the colors. Have you thought about using one of the large florals as a border? For something so simple, borders can really be challenge sometimes. I know you are excited about the wedding. Enjoy the time with your family.
ReplyDeleteL,A-
I reckon your quilt looks fabulous just as it is .... so bright and cheery!!!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting that the wedding is so close .... these last few days are gonna fly by while you get all your last minute jobbies done. :o)
Love n hugs,
Joy ;o) xxxxxxx
Hi Vicki,
ReplyDeleteOh wow, gorgeous quilt coming along! And all your seams match up soooo well-unlike mine LOL
Hm, my suggestions for the next border would be plain yellow!
Have fun finishing off this quilt and kick up your heels at the wedding!
Hugs,
Anna
Lovely bright quilt. My only suggestion would be a plain border as any more activity on that quilt would be too much as it's perfect now :)
ReplyDeleteYou are like me, you have to sleep on it....I alway lay down, whether I nap or not but somehow the answer just comes.
ReplyDeleteLove love love the quilt!
That is too pretty, Vicki! I love it as it is, or maybe a white border - just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHi Vicki!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful cheery quilt - I love it! I like it just as it is but if you were wanting to make it larger, I would perhaps use a plain white border and then go for colour again. But it's all a matter of opinion isn't it sweetie? I also find that leaving a project for a while and sleeping on it, always brings answers! :-)
Enjoy!!!
Hugs! Vikki xoxo
It is lovely Vicki - I think I would do a white border next but whatever you choose will be lovely.
ReplyDeletethis might be too out there to actually do, but I think it would be cool to do a mostly white border with little squares that line up with the shashing squares you already have...can you picture what I am saying? Again, it might be too much, but I am always for quirky
ReplyDeleteGorgeous quilt. I might add a skinny border and then a wider one or lol a skinny border then a pinwheel border and then a final border. Just my thought.
ReplyDeleteSimply yummy quilt vicki and maybe a plain border to set it off, what ever you end up doing it is going to be a truly stunning quilt.
ReplyDeleteWow! it looks so beautiful!!! how much work!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous quilt...I love the fabric that you have chosen.
ReplyDeleteHi Vicky how are you? how beautiful the quilt Molinito, you could see on my blog as I learned from your tutorial hexagons?
ReplyDeletethank you very much
kisses and hugs for you
this quilt is so pretty and bright...I love it!
ReplyDeleteOh Vicki, it's gorgoeus!!
ReplyDeleteLove those fresh pretty colours.
I'd love a white border with colourful applique flowers on the white.
As everyone says though, it's gorgeous the way it is...and whatever else you do will be perfect.
Lovely colours!
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing what you do for the next border.
Your pinwheels look lovely - I am looking forward to seeing how you finish it off....
ReplyDeleteHugz
Vicky..Beautiful quilt. I think white or off white would set the border beautifully.
ReplyDeleteHave a good trip for your son wedding.
Laurette
Simply gorgeous Vicki!! If you want it larger maybe add a white border and then a scrappy binding with some of the fabrics in the quilt. Whatever you decide, I'm sure it will finish beautifully.
ReplyDeleteOMG Vicki...I am in love with your quilt. It's so beautiful. The colours are amazing, but I just adore pinwheels and yours has gone together beautifully. Love the stripey border too. I wouldn't add another border, just a solid strong colour for a binding.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy yourself at your sons wedding... I know you will have a wonderful time. Take lots of photos xxxxx
