A few things to tell you.

cover US mag

Wow…first of all I want to tell you that Linda Hungerford has written an article on a few Australian stitchers and are featured in the American magazine Quilters Newsletter, I am one of them among other Aussie designers. It’s very exciting and you can read about it on Linda’s blog. Linda contacted me late last year and interviewed me and so I had fun talking about quilting and stitching with her.

I won’t get my hands on a copy until next month and I look forward to that as Gail Pan has her beautiful quilt featured in it. Have a look here.

I have been busy making some new designs for the Aussie magazines and its strange making Christmas things. I love Christmas things so it has been fun.

Also some other creations have escaped my head and started to become reality.

Here’s a sneak peek….

I woke up early this morning and couldn’t go back to sleep so thought I may as well just get up. I would love to have more sleep but if the brain goes full throttle at 4 am then it’s just a waste of time trying to go back to sleep.

The postie has delivered me some parcels for my birthday which is on Tuesday from my gumnut sisters and I haven’t opened them yet as I will wait until the day. My DH and PIL are taking me to an Italian Restaurant for lunch to celebrate my birthday which will be very special. I am rather partial to Italian food.

My DH took me to the jewellers yesterday so I could pick out a Charm for my Pandora bracelet. I love it and I am getting a few now and they are all very special as each one signifies a special time or event for me. Plus my DH’s darling Aunt who is 93 yrs old gave me some money for my b’day so with that I got a charm for my bracelet too. The glass bead one is what my DH gave me.

  1. Great article in QNL about the beautiful stitcheries you Australian girls are doing - I think embroidery is starting to become popular here, also. We have a small group that is meeting once a month for most of the day. I really enjoy stitching and, aside from cross stitching a lot some years ago, I hadn't done any of the regular embroidery until redwork took hold. How could anyone ever be bored? I just wish I could do more!! I love looking in on your blog and those of your friends! Carol

  3. First of all, Vicki, congratulations on the interview! Secondly, that sneak peak looks very interesting and I cannot wait to see what it is! You are such a tease. And lastly, 4 a.m. is the best time to be creative in my opinion. Personally, I wish there were more early morning hours in a day! Hope you have a very happy birthday. You certainly are off to a good start! ~karen

I know exactly how you feel, when you can't sleep...you might as well being doing something! Don't get me wrong I like sleep like the next person, but it feels like it is over rated...when there is so much I want to get done in a day!

  12. Congrats Vicki on featuring you in the newsletter among your peers. That sneak peak of your Christmas project looks good but I wouldn't expect anything less from you hehehehehehe. When the brain starts ticking overtime one just needs to get the ideas down on paper as soon as possible, that is when the best ideas flow- usually in bed or the shower! Hugs.
