Noah's Ark Update

I said before I am doing the monthly Noah's Ark stitcheries, here are some more blocks that I have done.

4 Kangaroos 5 Elephants 6 Noah and Giraffes 8 Tortoise and Birds

7 Rainbow for some reason the threads don't cover the pen completely and I am not fretting about it as I think it will come out in the wash ...well I am hoping it will. I have to print out the next 3 so I can get to and stitch them. I am stitching them all on a piece of calico and will cut them out after and put the borders on them. I am doing them like this as it is easier to put a big piece of calico in the hoop. Plus its exciting to cut them out after I have done them all.

Breast of Friends BOM

This is the first block I did but I changed the outside border on it as I wasn't totally happy with the fabric choice I originally had. I got some lovely pink fat quarters from Barb for the Monthly FQ Swap and liked one of the ones she sent way better than what I had on it. So I unpicked and sewed the new pink one on. I am happy with it now. Its from Homespun No.68 (Vol10.1) which is the latest issue. Block 1 Homespun

Thanks everyone for your lovely comments and I appreciate them very much.

Woo Hoo...!!

I have done my first block for the Breast of Friends BOM out of the Homespun magazine.

There is also a forum where we can discuss this BOM amongst us. Homespun Forum.

I am using colours of fabric from my stash so is quite a bit different to the ones in the magazine.

Now onto the second one

Just couldn't help myself!!

Isn't it funny....you go into a fabric shop to get a few threads and what happens!! You come out with the threads AND some more fabric!! I am doing a BOM from the Homespun magazine called Breast of Friends and also Denni and Barb are as well. We were so excited about it and we had to tell everyone on the Craft Forum that we were doing the BOM and now a few of the ladies on there are doing it as well. I am trying to keep the colours similar and the others are doing it in different colours so will be great to see them all.

Barb, Denni and myself have made a challenge with this and we are going to have the first two blocks done by February 15th in time for the next blocks that will come out in the magazine in February.

Anyway here's a picture of the fabrics I just couldn't do without yesterday.

I am spoilt!!

I am so spoilt and I had to show you what a lovely lady named Doti who lives in Hungary sent me. I just love love love this fabric!! She sent me a little bag with the extra fabric and I want to make something but just don't know what. I am thinking maybe a little sunglasses case. More thought has to go in it as I don't want to muck it up. Thank you Doti....I get the bag and the extra fabric out every now and again and fondle them and just look at them. Just love them!!

I am doing a happy dance again!

I am so excited!! I have two projects published in this months Handmade magazine and also one of them The Table Runner is on the front cover. See it behind the words "8 NEW discount vouchers"? This is the latest Handmade magazine Vol. 26 No. 6

Cover of Handmade Vol26 No 6Table RunnerAngel Among the Stars

I loved these fabrics in the Colour Parade Table Runner and Coasters, and found they went really well with each other and it was a pleasure to make...any one can do this one.

The Angel Among the Stars is a funny little design...I was having a bit of fun one day. I hope you have fun making it too. Except make her hair come around her head more than what the photographer did it here heheh.

I've done some more and loving them!!

I have been busy doing more of the DJ blocks. They certainly get you in and I can now see why Jane Stickle made so many blocks. Its a bit like smoking cigarettes...just one isn't enough. Not that I smoke now but I used to and glad I have given them up. But I wont be giving these little babies up.

I am keeping them in a folder and also as I have scanned these I am putting them onto a virtual wall which came with the CD software. Great stuff and its good to see them all where they are supposed to be.
