It’s June! That means a new block for my BoM

Wow….this year is totally spooking me out. Either I am just very much lost in what I am doing and not thinking about the time or it really is just going fast.
Here is my number 6 block for my Flirting With Flowers BOM. I love the little snail :)

Last week a few of us Gumnut sisters decided to have a little swap amongst us. We used Fiona’s gorgeous pattern ‘Florentine Doily’ and then we all got a name to send our doily to. We had such fun and I got Joy’s gawjus doily
May 2010 157[3]
and Dawn got mine.

I love these doilys and Fiona has the pattern available still from her blog.
Also later on today the Among the Gum Trees will have a freebie for June. It’s our lovely Dawn’s turn to give a special project to everyone, so pop on over and have a read of the newsletter and grab the pattern for June….its Ab Fab! I love it.

A date has been set for my son’s wedding! Yay….I am so excited and so we are off to Western Australia in October for a couple of weeks for his wedding. I can hardly wait, but I have to as I got the wedding quilt to finish.
Yesterday I was in a bit of a tizz, because I cut out all the triangle shapes from the two fabrics and sewed them together to form the next border and it was wayyyyyyy too big!!
What???? yes…I had the right amount of triangles….yes they were all around the right way……Mmmm…. I then unpicked them all…..some call it reverse sewing!
Then I cut the shape a bit smaller and recut all the triangles.
Sewed one lot together and Yay…\o/ \o/ happy dance happened!
It fit across the quilt just right! The magazine that it was published in, printed the shape too big.
Anyway its all go go again. That episode took a whole day…Grrrrrrrrrrr. Actually I didn’t swear, so how good am I?
Hugs to all………Vicki

  14. I KNOW - this year is almost half through, can you believe it??? Vicki, I love love love the new block - the snail is darling - the fabric you used for your leaves, are those polka dots? They look like dew drops, perfect for your leaves.

Yay for weddings!!! Not yay for wrong printings, lol! How could you keep from saying bad words - I would have wadded it up and gone shopping for a toaster. You are far more patient than I am!

  17. Thanks for the new block. When I downloaded it, I checked to make sure it 'went' and discovered that block #5 didn't download correctly, so I guess I'm heading over to your Etsy shop. I HATE Windows 7 with a growing passion! ~karen
