Thankyou everyone
I am having a very slow time at responding to you all who have left comments and get well wishes for me. I am sorry if I haven’t answered you as like to answer anyone who does take the time to leave a comment and if you can all take this as a personal reply to your comments I would really appreciate it very much. It’s just too hard typing with one hand and even sitting at the computer…just did not realise a broken wrist would continue to be so painful after being operated on. I am usually fairly tolerant to pain but this has worn me down.
I haven't picked up anything to try to sew and I am becoming frustrated with the withdrawals I am experiencing with that as there is so many things I want to do.
Time is a big factor and patience too… it’s hard being depended on anyone. I am not some who depends on others at all.
Any how….enough of all the whinging..I can still read emails and everyone's blogs and that helps keep me thinking positive.
Thanks to you all I am boosted by your hugs and well wishes.
Hugs to all……..Vicki

How not to do gardening
What ever you do don't step over wire backwards and fall over and land on your bum and put your sewing hand out to steady yourself or you will end up like this!!!
Yes it’s my arm in a sling with a broken wrist!!! I still can’t believe I spent 4 days in hospital after getting there in an ambulance.
You know what the worse thing about it all is that it’s my sewing hand!!! I am typing this with one hand and it takes so long to do.
It took the hospital 3 days to finally operate on my wrist as it needed a metal plate with screws to hold it together as my bones are weak from having osteopenia!! I am thankful I don't have a broken hip but I do have a huge bruise on my bum where I landed on it….gawd!! So no gardening for me anymore for quite some time.
I have so much sewing I want to do too……

Framed Hexagons
I haven't showed you much of my sewing lately and so I thought you might like to see a couple of the things I have done.
The first is a Framed Hexagon which are about 6 inches across, and the interesting thing about these is that the centres are decorated with stitchery, appliqué, beads, embroidery or what ever takes your fancy. I am participating in a swap with these on the craft forum that I am a part of with 20 other ladies. This is the first one I have made for my partner who is DebsW this month ….she wanted cream and burgundy as her colour theme and so I made this for her.
I requested Blues, greens, yellows and cream and so this is what DebsW sent to me and I love it too….
Next month we will all have different partners to send to and so we get to make a different one. This swap will go for six months so we will end up with 6 different hexagons to stitch together and make a gorgeous table runner or wall hanger.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another project I have been working on is a Sampler quilt. These blocks I accumulated over two years from swapping sampler blocks on the craft forum with others on there. I chose to put a checked border around all of the blocks and then sewed them together. I have machined stitched in the ditch and the next thing I am going to try will be stippling all over. I am a little scared but excited about it at the same time. I will show you when its stippled and edged too.
I have it draped over my lounge for this photo and there are no edges sewn onto it yet.
On My Heart BOM Layout and a look at others.
I have been playing around in EQ6 and have come up with two designs to have the On My Heart blocks all put together. A few ladies have said they are going to make them into a table runner which would look fantastic and the last block Notions On My Heart was sewn up and made into a beautiful Needle Holder by Biquiños
How clever is she?? But go on over to her blog and have a look at the insides ….its fantastic!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Also Barb from Barb from BarbsCreations has done her blocks in Red and Black and White….awesome!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another few have done some lovely colour combinations and they look superb. I am always amazed at how everyone comes up with something different and they all look just stunning. Here are a few ……
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ok….I just cant help myself in showing off everyone's lovely blocks.
~~~~~~~
These are the two different styles I have come up with and it will give you a couple of ideas as to how to put your blocks together.
This is the straight edged borders. The hearts are all appliquéd on to give it a bit of interest and to tie the blocks in.
This one measures 30.5” x 41”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is the scalloped edge one which is a bit different and if you like scallops then you can work on doing one like this.
This one measures 24.5” x 35” not counting the scallops.

If you haven't got No. 5 block yet click on here and it will take you to it to download it. The rest are available from my Etsy store so just click on the Etsy button and it will take you to it.
Hope you had fun looking at all the blocks as much as I have and the layouts gives you a couple of ideas.

Number 5 On My Heart BOM
Well its the 10th of July and so I have for you number 5 On My Heart BOM.
I hope you like it and enjoy sewing it and add it to the others.
~~~~~~
I have begun an idea for putting them all together and will show you this idea a bit later on today.
I have to go out this morning and I wanted to get this block up for you first.
I have called it
“Notions On My Heart”
because we all love to sew and these are some of my favourite things for sewing.
Plus they are most required…even the heart cause I love sewing and I think doing it with your heart you then do a better job.
That's my theory.
~~~~~
Here is “Notions On My Heart” which is now in my Etsy store.
Number 4 block Tweet Tweet On My Heart
is now in my Etsy shop if you missed out on getting it here last month along with the other 3 blocks.
Also if you click on the Etsy button on the left it will take you to my Etsy shop.
