Framed Hexagons

I haven't showed you much of my sewing lately and so I thought you might like to see a couple of the things I have done.

The first is a Framed Hexagon which are about 6 inches across, and the interesting thing about these is that the centres are decorated with stitchery, appliqué, beads, embroidery or what ever takes your fancy. I am participating in a swap with these on the craft forum that I am a part of with 20 other ladies. This is the first one I have made for my partner who is DebsW this month ….she wanted cream and burgundy as her colour theme and so I made this for her.

Framed Hexie

I requested Blues, greens, yellows and cream and so this is what DebsW sent to me and I love it too….

Next month we will all have different partners to send to and so we get to make a different one. This swap will go for six months so we will end up with 6 different hexagons to stitch together and make a gorgeous table runner or wall hanger.

Another project I have been working on is a Sampler quilt. These blocks I accumulated over two years from swapping sampler blocks on the craft forum with others on there. I chose to put a checked border around all of the blocks and then sewed them together. I have machined stitched in the ditch and the next thing I am going to try will be stippling all over. I am a little scared but excited about it at the same time. I will show you when its stippled and edged too.

001 I have it draped over my lounge for this photo and there are no edges sewn onto it yet.

Hugs to all………Vicki
